Last week, the People Powered team presented our big idea to the National Housing Federation’s Housing Summit. This was the culmination of the Creating Our Future social innovation accelerator.
Over two days, we met hundreds of housing leaders to introduce them to The Good Food Bag.
The Good Food Bag is a social enterprise which will give people more choice over what’s for tea, disrupt the food economy and put money back into people’s pockets.
We used our seven minute dragons den pitch to explain why food security matters and how our social business could make a difference to people’s lives. We talked about the very special role that food plays in our lives. It’s connection to aspiration, family, social inclusion and celebration. You can watch our pitch below.
Thank you so much to our fantastic housing associations, supporters, mentors, family and friends who have helped us get this far. We couldn’t have done it without you.
The last three weeks of the incubator are set to be even more busy than the last month!
Our next step is to identify pioneer housing associations and partners to pilot The Good Food Bag. To support this, we are working up our financial projections and finalising our investor deck.
Alongside this, we’re working with our consultant chef to pull together our recipes, running our second small scale consumer cook and tasting test and hosting The Good Food Bag cook up for investors.
We know we need more investment, more support, more expertise and more allies to bring The Good Food Bag to life.
Please get in touch if you want to join us. We can’t change the world on our own- but perhaps we can by working together.
